Camels in Australia
1800 Kilometers of Outback

This report’s podcast is only available in german:
Und täglich hüpft das Känguru.
1800 km of outback lie behind us! It was hot, the distances between towns (and water sources) were enormous, and the gravel sections weren’t always in the best condition. But the wind was mostly in our favor, cockatoos, emus, and countless kangaroos provided entertainment, and the peace, solitude, and little to no traffic were exactly what we needed after almost a year in Southeast Asia! 1800 km of outback means 1800 km of nature – and we’re happy to pay the price for that: camping 32 times in a row (a new record!) and constantly carrying around many liters of water and many kilograms of food. And when we do meet people, they’re always very friendly and hospitable, just as typical of the outback as the cattle behind the cattle grids!
