Xinjiang: Everything Is Different in Far West China
Published on 21.07.2024, 13:49 in Takeshiken, China
This report’s podcast is only available in german: Xinjiang: Alles ist anders in Fernwest-China.
As we had already explained in the last episode, our route from Central Asia to Mongolia will take us through China – more precisely through the Chinese province of Xinjiang in the remote, far west of the huge country. Upon crossing the border into China, we enter a completely new world. Everything is suddenly very different to Central Asia. This affects all aspects of a touring cyclist’s life: roads, traffic, nature, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, language, time difference, cityscapes, sights, internet, cars. In this episode, we describe the differences and tell you which problems that we had to deal with every day in Central Asia suddenly no longer exist in China – and vice versa!

We are going to get on our bicycles once again and further collect kilometers :-)
See you again soon!
